Sarah is dedicated to creating equitable structures, systems, and supports that allow adult learners to thrive. Before joining Digital Promise, Sarah worked to expand access to career and technical education, college preparation, and wraparound services for under-credited young adults in District 79, New York City’s Alternative Schools and Programs, including immigrant-origin students. Sarah’s previous research examined equity in instructional and assessment practices for multilingual learners at the secondary level. From 2012-2017, she also taught graduate courses in foundations of bilingual education for K-12 teachers at Hunter College, City University of New York. Sarah earned her M.A. in Bilingual & Bicultural Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and a B.A. in Hispanic Studies and Literature from the University of Massachusetts Boston as a first-generation college student.
